At EVSM, little pianist students learn from highly trained, dedicated instructors who bring years of professional teaching and performance experience to every lesson. Our faculty includes many university‑trained pianists, active performers, and specialists in classical and contemporary pedagogy. Each instructor is committed to helping students build a strong musical foundation through individualized, goal‑oriented instruction.
EVSM little pianist instructors hold degrees in music performance, music education, or piano pedagogy from respected institutions such as Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University, Brigham Young University, and other accredited universities nationwide. Many have extensive experience performing professionally, accompanying ensembles, and teaching students of all ages and levels.
Our instructors teach all major styles—classical, jazz, pop, contemporary worship, film music, and more. Whether you’re preparing for auditions, building classical technique, or simply wanting to play your favorite songs, we tailor lessons to your goals.
Students receive a comprehensive musical education, including:

We use a wide range of method books, especially the Piano Adventures series and materials to match each student’s learning style and musical interests.
Yes. To support proper technique and musical development, students are required to have an acoustic piano or a full‑size 88‑key digital piano with stand, bench, and pedal. Keyboards with fewer than 88 keys are not acceptable, as they do not provide the sound quality or touch sensitivity needed for developing dynamics, control, and healthy playing habits.
This class is not a group class – the lessons are private and one-on-one with the instructor. This program will include weekly 30-minute piano lessons.
During lessons, students will be going through either My First Piano Adventures or Piano Power Quest lesson and writing books with their instructor. Visit the My First Piano Adventures or Piano Power Quest website to view each option. In these books, students learn correct posture/technique at the piano keyboard, go through fun exercises to train their eyes and ears, explore different sounds and types of touch on the piano, and learn finger numbers, names of the keys, music symbols, different rhythms and tempos, and, eventually, how to read music off of the grand staff.
Depending on the age and learning process of the student, it can take anywhere from 1-2 years for students to complete the Little Pianists program.
