Jennifer Harris was born and raised in a small farming community in Michigan. She began taking piano lessons at the age of 8. She continued taking private lessons through the end of high school and began teaching private piano lessons to some of the neighborhood children not long after she graduated from high school.
Jennifer graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa, in 2007 where she also studied classical piano and earned an endorsement in music which includes certification to teach music in public schools. In 2007, Jennifer moved to Tampa, Florida, to pursue a career in elementary education. She taught 4th Grade at Mango Elementary School in Seffner, Florida, for three years. In 2008, Jennifer began teaching part time with Piano Lessons in Your Home where she taught students as young as three years old through adults. In 2010, Jennifer began teaching full-time for Piano Lessons in Your Home.
In 2015, Jennifer got married and moved to Orlando. She went back to teaching in an Elementary classroom for three years at Bonneville Elementary School in Orlando. While teaching at Bonneville, Jennifer had an opportunity to work as the stage manager for the school’s production of Disney Musicals in Schools’ The Jungle Book.
In 2019, Jennifer relocated with her family to Gilbert, Arizona. She is still teaching two of her students from Orlando online and is excited to pass her love of music to more students at East Valley School of Music.
Jennifer is a member of the Music Teacher National Association, Arizona State Music Teacher Association, and East Valley Music Teacher Association.
