VERA KINGKADE
Vera Kingkade is a professional violinist, with a bachelor’s in Music – Violin from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, 1995; specialization in Chamber Music from the Brazilian Conservatory of Music, 2012; and a Master’s in Music Education, 2018. She is an experienced violinist and violin teacher. Mrs. Kingkade loves to compose and arrange musical pieces, as well as adapt songs for her students. Playing in professional orchestras such as the Brazilian Symphonic Orchestra, Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro Orchestra, and National Symphonic Orchestra, playing in churches, recording studios, and TV shows was part of her daily life in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She also provided original compositions and musical direction for some of her church presentations. On the international scene, Mrs. Kingkade performed with popular bands all over Brazil, Portugal, and Africa.
Her love for music stems from her deep expression of worship to the Lord. She started playing the keyboard and the guitar for her church congregation when she was 13 years old, while beginning violin classes. Her main formation as a violinist comes from Michel Bessler, one of the most prestigious names in the classical music scene of Brazil. From classical to jazz, Mrs. Kingkade always found a way to integrate the violin in various music genres. Upon moving to Arizona 6 years ago, Mrs. Kingkade started working as a teacher, performing at different church concerts, and playing during worship. She is currently directing the Band, Strings, Jazz, and Percussion classes for Valley Christian High School, where she is convinced that the most important thing is to always encourage the students to explore their potential, be creative, and have fun sharing their sounds with one another, and with the audience, when performing.
