Reeya Sthapit has studied music for the past 15 years and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree, with a minor in voice performance.
She has taught voice for the past two years. She is currently in a collegiate acapella group, performing as a Soprano 1. Reeya’s specialty is musical theatre and pop, though she is open to (and has performed) Western classical, jazz, and rock. She has performed in many shows, such as The Little Mermaid (Ariel), The Sound of Music (Maria), Aladdin (Jasmine), and Mina (Dracula). She was also in an improv comedy group. She performed in an ensemble for Urinetown, Bye Bye Birdie, and The Lion King.
Reeya’s teaching philosophy is, as Anna Leonowens says in The King and I, “If you become a teacher, by your pupils you’ll be taught.” Reeya believes in guiding students’ passion for music to help them gain new skills and polish their talents.
