Karen Mezich earned her Bachelor of Music Education K-12 Choral degree from the University of Wisconsin: Eau Claire. Karen’s disciplines include Piano, Voice and Guitar. Karen had the pleasure of studying with Penelope Cecchini for piano, Dr Kathryn Proctor for voice instruction, and Charlotte Hubert for K-12 music education.
Vocal Health is extremely important. Karen went through Marquette’s undergraduate courses for Speech Pathology. Karen also attended The Voice Care Network at Saint John’s University instructed by Dr. Axel Theimer. The Voice Care Network promotes vocal health with Body, Mind and Voice training using the Alexander Technique.
Karen was the General Manager of Bel Canto Chorus located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During her tenure, Bel Canto Chorus was invited by Gian Carlo Menotti to travel to Italy to perform the St. Matthew Passion by Felix Mendelssohn, at the Spoleto Festival. Karen was also selected to perform in a choral ensemble in Chicago with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Luciano Pavarotti.
From 2000 to 2019, Karen Mezich was the President and Owner of the Conservatory of Music and Arts located in Lake Villa, Illinois and Greendale, Wisconsin. Her objective was to provide students with excellent instruction with multiple professional teachers. In the course of 25 years,the school instructed over 3450 students. Our students ranged from beginners to advanced. She closed the school in 2019 and is now semi-retired. She moved to Arizona in 2020.
