HUNTER HELLARD
Originally from North Carolina, Hunter Hellard is an active performer and educator. His dedication to the art of performance has allowed him to stand as first prize in competitions such as the Ithaca College Concerto Competition and Chamber Music Competition held at the University of Hartford. He has also competed on national and international levels, placing first runner up in the Waterbury Symphony concerto competition and earning a silver medal at Amadeus International Music Awards.
As an avid fan of new music, Hellard boasts a long list of premieres and commissions from notable composers such as Karalyn Schubring, Aaron Stornaiolo, and Kyle Grimm. In addition to his premieres, Hellard has created arrangements of music by well-known composers such as Shelley Washington and Felix Mendelssohn.
Hellard holds a Master of Music from Ithaca College and a Bachelor of Music Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He studied under Professor Steven Banks and Dr. Robert Young, respectively.
