Cheyne Fehser is a performer and educator with over a decade of professional experience. Most recently he taught music ensemble courses at Arizona State University as a Faculty Associate. He just recently completed his doctoral degree in classical guitar performance at Arizona State University, where he also graduated Summa Cum Laude with a M.M. and B.M. in classical guitar performance.
Cheyne has given multiple performances throughout the valley at venues such as Tempe Center for the Arts and the Musical Instrument Museum. Additionally, he has performed in master classes with David Russell, Scott Tennant, Pavel Steidl, Carlos Bonell, Dale Kavanagh, Raphaella Smits, Roland Dyens, and the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. Throughout his studies Cheyne has been the recipient of multiple awards and scholarships including the Louise Kerr Endowment, the Bruce Munson Memorial Scholarship, the ASU Special Talent Award, and the Richard and Babette Burns Guitar Scholarship. While Cheyne has a passion for Classical music he also has a love for many other genres and enjoys playing Gypsy Jazz, Funk, Blues, and Rock.
Cheyne’s philosophy for teaching is to challenge students while making difficult and intimidating concepts fun.
