Nick Mac Gregor
With the sticks in his hands at only 4 years old, he began playing the drums and never looked back. Nick
MacGregor is a professional drummer, musician, and composer hailing from Phoenix, AZ. At a young
age, he developed a love for Jazz, R&B, Soul, Funk, Rock, Worship/Gospel and Latin Music. Nick has
over a decade of performance experience under his belt.
A skilled and experienced drummer and Jazz musician, Nick MacGregor graduated from Arizona State
University with his Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance, and a Certificate in Music
Entrepreneurship where he studied the music industry and the recorded music business. He studied
under the likes of Michael Kocour, Lewis Nash, Dom Moio, Dr. Jeffrey Libman, Clarke Rigsby, Corcoran
Holt, Dr. Benjamin Hedquist, Bryon Ruth, and many other jazz masters of his time. Studying with great

of Grammy Winning gospel vocalists Nathan De’Shon Myers, Myron Butler, and countless others.
On top of being a skilled performer, Nick is a prolific composer, session musician, recording artist,
producer, and songwriter. In 2023, he released his debut R&B instrumental record called “Adventure
Music,” with 16 songs written, and produced entirely by himself. The album is available for listening on all
streaming platforms. He also writes/produces solo records and other projects with a large handful of
musicians and songwriters in the greater Los Angeles/Phoenix area.
As an educator, Nick prides himself on his ability to connect music of the past into today’s modern music
world. He has an extensive rudimental background with his touring/performing experience with various
World Class Drum & Bugle Corps during his youth. Nick firmly believes that having a good fundamental
foundation as a drummer will unlock the doors to unlimited performance opportunities; whether that be in
the studio or on the stage.
In studying in Nick’s studio, students work through things like: hand techniques, rhythmic studies,
stamina, endurance, playing to recordings, ear training for drummers, sheet music literacy, playing with
other musicians in a band, playing music by ear, developing your own sound as a player, and a vast
variety of other subjects. Nick’s curriculum will help your child develop their own set of unique
professional skills at an early age, no matter the skill level, all while spreading joy and encouraging the
love of music.
Aside from music, Nick loves traveling, hanging out with his dog, and spending time with family and
friends.
