Ms Coleman has a Bachelor’s of Music education and performance from the University of Texas at Dallas, under Enric Madriguea and a Master’s degree in Music Education and Performance from Arizona State University, under Frank Koonce. She also studied Jazz at Philips University in Enid, Oklahoma, under J.C. Dulin for 2 years.

She has traveled to Spain and Italy to attend master classes with such artists as Andre Segovia, Alirio Diaz and Jose Tomas. She also spent three summers at Montana State University working with Christopher Parkening  and attended private lessons for several years with Southern Methodist University, Texas guitar professor Robert Guthrie. Bonnie Lou went to Cuba as an education ambassador for the People to People Program in 2000.

Ms. Coleman has dedicated her life to providing community art and music programs for all levels and ages and has served on the Chandler Commission on the Arts as well as the University of Texas advisory council for the guitar program, current.

Ms. Coleman served as the Director of Guitar Programs at Glendale Community College as well as teaching at ASU West and Grand Canyon University.  Bonnie Lou is the founder and former executive director of the Phoenix Conservatory of Music. She is frequently called upon to serve as a judge in art and music competitions.
