Now Enrolling New Students!
EVSM is pleased to provide a program for kids ages 4-6, called the “Little Pianists”! This class is not a group class – the lessons are private and one-on-one with the instructor. This program will include weekly 30-minute private keyboard lessons in our music room area in the back of the school.
The 30-minute lessons will be broken down into 2 main parts: Rug Time and Play Time
During Rug Time, students will participate in fun music games and activities to reinforce theory concepts and terms. They will also be using different rhythm instruments, learning various songs and rhymes, and working on drawing and coloring activities to promote letter/number recognition, coordination, and keeping a steady beat.
During Play Time, students will be going through the My First Piano Adventures Lesson Books and Writing Books with their instructor. ( Click here to see the My First Piano Adventures website). In these books, students learn correct posture/technique at the keyboard, go through fun exercises to train their eyes and ears, explore different sounds and types of touch on the keyboard, and learn finger numbers, names of the keys, music symbols, different rhythms and tempos, and, eventually, how to read music off of the grand staff.
Depending on the age and learning process of the student, it can take anywhere from 1-2 years for students to complete the Little Pianists program.
